Wheee, lookit me update!

Totally didn't want to get up this morning. It's wrong for my bed to be that soft when I need to be awake. And the kicker is I almost never get so comfortable, so it was like giving up a rare treat so that I could get up and tumble into some clothes. UNFAIR.

Point of this entry! Something I've been feeling like ranting about for a while.

So I'm a creative person. This is a great thing, I benefit from it, I make drawing...things, and sometimes I even like them! On average I usually have about five or six things I feel like drawing buzzing in my head at any one time, and sometimes I get to them and sometimes I don't. I also like drawing for other people because I find it a fascinating creative challenge to apply the way I work to someone else's idea (you get why I want to be an illustrator now, right?).
But there always has to be a flip side, right? What happens when I ignore all that creative energy, and don't draw anything for an extended (translated, extended here means "more than 18 hours") period of time? It's as if I haven't eaten all day and can't focus on any one thing because I'm too grumpy from lack of food. I get agitated, distracted, and damn depressed about the whole thing. If I don't give it up to my creative urges, then they turn around and try to stab me in the jaw.
So uhm. Basically my creativity controls me and is a major factor of my mood. It's a nice little muse, but it's also a hungry little monster, and if I don't feed it it starts chomping my insides. Isn't it funny that when you look at it that way, I draw for the sake of self-preservation as much as anything else? XD I need to draw right now, I mean, I have an idea, a reason, and I think it'll be a lot of fun, but more prominently there's this gnawing in my gut that won't let me rest until I do.

Annnd, for those of you who want to skip the personal rant, here's something else!

I loved it :) I think it's the best of the movies so far, which is interesting considering it's certainly not the best of the books. There were a few details I could have done without (why was Dumbledore manhandling Harry?? HANDS OFF MAN, OUT OF CHARACTER, I CALL OUT OF CHARACTER!), but overall it was good and the things they did well, they did freaking well! I've heard people say bad things about the pacing, but I wasn't really bothered by it myself...I felt like all the changes and added scenes made sense and were comprehensive, plus some of that pacing was squishing in little details that made the movie worthwhile for me (hello ferret Draco thank you mister man.)

Highlights...
-Uhm. Hot Voldemort. Honestly that guy is a champ, excellent performance. The look was a very good one too, perhaps not as spindly as one might imagine from the books, but overall an excellent representation and acting job.
-TWINS! Oh god, how cute were they! Not overpoweringly or inappropriately present, but popping up at random good moments to make everyone giggle. Oh god and when Fred asked Angelina to the ball NOOO T__T I SUFFER FROM OVERLOAD OF CUTE WEASLEYS WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME.
-Humiliating Ron at every dang opportunity possible ever. I say yes to that. Rupert's face always makes me happy.
-Very cute Neville. I really appreciate them letting him get some screen time, especially since he's not terribly important to the actual plot but for the gillyweed. He's an important character in the long run, so yay :)
-Durmstrang boys :) I loved the entrance scene, I can't be the only one...right? I thought the way they were portrayed was more interesting than Rowling's original bunch of slobs. It's kind of like a little bit of a different flavor to the dark arts, I guess? Not everyone is slimy and greasy. Though I'm still going to keep my hawk-faced and awkward version of Krum for my head XD But it was still very nice.
-The Crouches, Jr and Sr :D Again, the movie gave them more color than the original, and I enjoyed that. The actor that played Junior was brilliant, he didn't get a lot of time but he played the role to the fullest. I also felt a lot more sympathy for his father than in the book. Five stars X3
-Cutting out Ludo Bagman. THANK YOU.
-Snape with his sleeves and hands and what the. Do that again, five times. I will watch.

Not so good bits...
-Yule ball Hermione. Bad entrance. Don't do it like a Disney princess next time, please.
-Hermione/Ron....romance?? It wasn't very well done. Iiiii wasn't feeling it. Which makes me sad, cause I'm a Hermione/Ron fan, but oh well.
-Changing Wormtail's lines in the graveyard. Okay that's a nitpick, but it was one of the little bumps that made me go "why did you just do that". I liked the original little lyric, and they didn't need to change it.
-First task = SUCKED. I'm not sure which little nut in the gears has a boner for Harry flying around the extensive grounds of Hogwarts at any given opportunity, but just no. They could have made that scene exciting without overblowing it like that, not to mention mutilating the character of the dragon. She's a nesting mother, not a savage murderer. Get it right. She thought the stupid kid was after her eggs, or she wouldn't have attacked.
-A little overboard on the Myrtle, that was a little creepy.
-Not cool with the hedge-attacking thing. That was just lame.

OH OH OH AND I DO NOT LIKE TO SITTING NEXT TO TWELVE YEAR OLDS WHO SQUEAL AND MOAN EXCITEDLY EVERY TIME CEDRIC COMES ON SCREEN.They also saw fit to make high pitched disgusted sounds for such scenes as Hagrid courting Maxime (I thought it was cute!) and Harry taking a bath.

Uhh..that's it really. I might be too hungry and unartified to think of more things I disliked about it now. I'm sure I will think of them later.
