I've actually done this before, but I'm really off my rocker and doing it again. For some reason.
Please throw anything at me! I would LOVE to talk about characters endlessly.
Pick a fictional character from a fandom I know and I'll answer the following questions to the best of my abilities:
1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

Some history here, actually...I used to LOVE him. Like, ridiculous over the top drooling love. And then that faded out, and then Kishimoto butchered him, so unfortunately, I'm coldly neutral now :(
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
I do think so, in fact, he started to become more and more important up to the point where he was at his best, and then continued to be important even though (in my opinion) Kishimoto was robbing him of his charm.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
Yes, I can totally relate to being a lazy reluctant fucker XD But since he stopped being that, it was harder. Oh god I'm so full of negativity I'm sorry.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
VERY tricky question-! I got my start in the Naruto fandom, it's where I first really got my hands dirtied. From day one I was hardcore for the series, back in the ToryiamaWorld days, and watched it slowly evolve to a huge hulking mass of GUUUHHHHHHHH.
I owe a lot to the fandom and I'm never gonna forget it <3 But for the most part, peace out.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
Am I ever not interested in ships~ My favorite relationships for Shikamaru are Ino, Chouji, Asuma, and Temari. I'm so boring and standard, I guess. Temari is probably my top favorite, I think they could make each other really happy.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
I'd keep him from going all badass and unrelateable like Kishimoto made him do :\ He needs to stay sympathizable, he didn't do that for me.
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)
I don't know if I'd even notice him in real life, funnily enough. He's the kind of guy that just falls under the radar.
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
Nope, not one or the other. He was one of my favorites in the long long ago, in the beforetime, but not anymore.
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?
Hmm, no...I'd tell anyone I was recommending Naruto to to stop after part one, and let them form their own opinion about what they're seeing.
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
Yes, I do think so! Or at least, he used to be. He's got a great stigma to him, I'll give him that :)
