Woooow those are some longass classes! O_O How the hell will you ever pay attention!? My teachers usually lost me in the first half hour XDD;;;

...Then again it was better for interesting classes and the first 3 you listed look yuuuuum.

Yeeahhhh XD The six-hour classes are studio classes, and we get an hour of dinner/lunch break in between, so it's really not so bad. The other classes also get a small break in between, and are usually really interesting, so <3

Oh! That's not so bad then ^^ I mean, still long but thank goodness for a reasonable break.

I hope you're enjoying the masculinity class, I'm curious to know what exactly goes on in that xD

You get used to it <3 It IS a lot of work, but classes only meet once a week anyway, so you take them for all they're worth :)
I just got back from it and it was really nice! Lots of open discussion and people with good heads on their shoulders and interesting things to say. It's surprising how quickly masculinity can get to be a touchy subject, but it's really uncomfortable for men and women alike sometimes, myself not excluded. It's very high-energy, that's for sure <3

ps ulansey's class was really good but it was more the classmates and less the teacher. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE BLACK PERSON IN MY CLASS, I GUESS THEY KNOW TO STAY AWAY. It seemed like she was pining for them, though, she said something along the lines of "now remember class if your viewpoint is over-represented, make sure to take a step back and let the people who don't get as much of a presence to speak." And she drifted off and you could practically see her thinking "Like black people..."

... I want to have a class for masculinity in my school. :C It would be funnier, considering it's an all womens college.

Oh man that really WOULD be hilarious XD It was a really fun class so far, lots of discussion. It actually has a surprisingly high ratio of men IN it, too, considering how much my school is dominated by girls usually.

That's pretty funny! It sounds like an interesting class, too. (because i read the above comments you made to others like a creeper)

It is! It's my first time taking a gender studies class, which is interesting because they usually focus on queer theory or feminism.

And hey, there's nothing creepy about that, the entry and all the comments are public, and everyone here is on my FL anyway :)

Haha I was mostly kidding with that creeper comment. it's sort of like, A HABIT we LJ'ers all form - reading other threads like it's no biggie.

That is so cool! I love nontypical classes - like last year there were options (for the freshman) to do childrens lit (yawn), some photo class (double yawn) and quilting. The quilting kind of came from left field IMHO, and like NO ONE TOOK THE CLASS but it was SO MUCH FUN.

... woah. why did i sign into this journal (THOUGHT I GOT OUT OF THAT HABIT, OOPS.)
